So i am having problems with the second computer. I have the att modem box plugged into my main computer via ethernet. I have a second computer downstairs which was originally a 98 but now it has XP as the OP. I used to have a wireless router coming from the att modem which gave my internet to the comp. downstairs. I had constent problems with weak signal or non at all, if it connected then it would be on for like 10 min at 5mbs. So now i went out and got a 100ft ethernet (cat 6) and thought that it would work much better and faster. Well I tried to hook it up yesterday, plugged it into the att modem and ran it through the walls downstairs. But now there is no connection to the downstaris comp. And I checked the proxy settings and there was no interference. I really have no ideas what to do now. Any tips?
