Data Execution Protection and AVG

Is there any connection between DEP and the free AVG8?

I have been getting occasional DEP messages, no more than once or twice a day, from Windows Explorer. When the system has sorted itself out I then find in the system tray that there are 2 AVG icons, hovering the mouse over each reveals "AVG Anti-Virus Free" and "AVG running scans".

Normally I only have the first icon and I have AVG set no to run scheduled scans as I prefer to set these things going when I want them and not when AVG or other software wants them.

Um. I hate it when I find a web page where someone has the same problem I have, and then someone else (like me) simply chimes in with “I have that problem too”… instead of posting a solution. but yeah, I have this problem too.
