I am working on a Windows XP box and my old DVD drive died, so I purchased a new HP DVD1140i and installed it. It is not working as I can only get it to recognize in device manager in PIO mode, and then it is to slow to do anything with the CDs or DVDs. I have tried everything I can find only about deleting the secondary IDE controller and what not, but nothing works!!!

Can anyone help?
