Hi All, It might look like this question is dumb but this seems to be a tricky question to answer.

Suppose say you have a printer which can also be used as a scanner (ie., printer and scanner as a combo in one box). We all know that when we print pages from the printer, it consumes certain ink from the cartridge used in the printer. Now, if we use the printer for a scanner (since this can be used as both) will a scanned page consume any ink from the printer cartridge?

I will also appreciate if you could answer how the scanning part works in such a case above.
