Help me please :) Asus driver installation problems.

During driver installation for my Asus EN9600GT graphics card (from both the drivers on the CD and the most recent driver from the ASUS website), the loading bar after accepting the legal agreement stops halfway and my screen goes black. If I wait long enough, sometimes a message comes up that says:

"The nv4_disp driver has stopped working normally…"

And then the screen becomes huge and the colors are reduced to very low quality. After restarting the computer, it was back to how it was, still with no drivers installed showing in the device manager, and I can go through the same problem all over again. :frown:

What do I do? It is not the power supply becase I have an Antec Neopower 650W, which is more than enough to support the card, and yes it is plugged into the card. My Dell Dimension E521 computer has 2 gigs of RAM, and it should be able to support this card.

Is it possible there is still something from my older graphics card, the Nvidia 7300 LE, that is interfering even though I uninstalled its driver before putting in my new one? Does my monitor need new drivers?

I’m a bit of a newbie at computers as this is my first replacement of a video card. What do I do?
