Ok, I didnt know where to post this, so dont be too harsh

I have windows Vista home premium
3 Gb RAM
500 Gb hdd
Nvid blah blah blah irrelivant
I have Sony Vegas Video installed and thats what Im using to capture.
My pc also has a firewire port, I plug the Mini DV camera in with firewire, and windows does it bleeping noise to tell me that its been detected and its ready to use. I think great, so I open vegas and sure enough it gives me the option of using that cam, I point the cam in the right direction and click capture, it craptures for about 5 seconds then it gives me a "lost contact with the camera" error, I can’t use it in any program, windows thinks that its gone. The only way to get it to come back up is by restarting the pc. Also, its exactly the same ammount of time untill it becomes undetected. Movie maker is the same.

There are no drivers available for my camera, I have checked the website, whats wrong?
