A professor of mine said something the other day in class that sparked my interest, but i want to make sure it is legal before I get excited.

He said that its not the windows cd you are paying for its the product key. What i got out of his is…as long as you use your product key you can install with another copy of the os.

The reason this sparked my attention is because i purchased an hp laptop in 2006 running windows xp home and it came with no install cd’s. Just a recovery console that i accidentally deleted trying to partition my hard drive. lol

well i guess i went off on a tangent there but back to my question…is it legal?:confused:
