I’m wanting to build my first highspec/gaming desktop.

So far, my list is;

Samsung F1 500GB Hard Drive
NZXT Lexa Blackline – Red – Case
Corsair TX 650W PSU
Corsair 4GB Kit – 800mhz
Samsung 20x DVD Drive
LG W2252TQ Monitor – 10000:1 Contrast

Now, do I want Quad or Dual Core? I’ve been looking at the E8400, and the Q6600, which do you recommend, or if neither, which alternatives are there?

And Graphics,

8800GT
9800GT
or HD4850 PCS extreme?

I want to play,

COD4
Halo
SimTractor
Roller Coaster Tycoon(s) mainly number 3
Maybe Crysis
rFactor,
GRID

What would be best for me?

And if anything else in my list isn’t correct for me, what should it be?

My budget is around £600+VAT (I can claim that back)
